West Glam is an amazing place! I've learnt allot and made so many new mates! Guys and Dolls has been the best course and I loved every minute of it (although i think everybodies favourite part was the piro :D). I just can't wait to go back to be honest. People don't understand why any one would pay to go on a course were you have to work in your holidays...these people have obviously never been to West Glam!! This company has gives you allot of experience and I just hope it keeps on going so i can stay still I'm 21!

Alright there Members editor?
My name is Andrew Tristram and I joined the Youth Theatre company in 1986 (I think!) the production was David Copperfield in any case. The YTF as far as I can remember was first talked about during the "Gotcha" summer course. The Show was written by the students each of us having written a sketch about some important subject of the decade (the 80`S (WOW!am I old or what)) The great Stewart Allen wrote a piece about football hooligans and it sort of got discussed there...We weren't many on the that course and the YTF was just a funny idea Stewart had, it would take something more to actually get the football rolling.
The next course was "Romeo and Juliet" a christmas course. It was a peculiar course due to the fact that the majority of the boys were in the old building, something I had not tried with the youth theatre before, but what made it a little stranger was the fact that Douglas Comely had taken a TV and video on the course, which resulted in very little social activity from the lads due to the fact that we spent allot of time in Dougs room watching masterpieces like "The Predator". Well this miffed the girls a bit and so the Video was politely banned. There had been a bit of rivalry between the boys in the old building and the boys in the new, which had resulted in some ugly scenes with stink bombs and Jeff Lewis bursting into my room in the middle of the night demanding to know who was responsible (It wasn't me, honest!) but the girls creating a fuss about our video rites now joined the two forces and made one common enemy (Dramatic or what?) This was the start of the Y.T.F. The founding member was of course the great Stewart Allen
Originally the YTF was a secret society which was only for the boys. What our goals were I cant remember but Stewart wrote in my script "YTF Tour of Denmark 1989- Hardcore drama hooligans on tour"
The original members included: Stewart Allen, Owen Webb, Ceri Jenkins, Gary Williams, Nick Evans, Kyle Kneath, Simon Bird, Jamie Lean and myself with some others who I cant quite put names to. The start was small but we were dedicated! and during the next courses the YTF grew into being something.....Well something. The girls were furious at not knowing what the YTF was and who was a member. We were often on the brink of trouble with the staff, mainly due to the fact that meetings were held after lights out, but we never actually got into trouble (I don't think) Well the YTF was the post Michael Sheen boys gift to the youth theatre, it was fun being a member but the funniest thing was returning as a member of staff some years later and finding the YTF alive and kicking with meetings as a social activity...and with GIRLS!! as members.
As far as I recall this is the way it happened,
although I am open to corrections!
With regards
Andrew Tristram
