Greetings to you all…..well after a wonderful reunion at the grand theatre, we find ourselves back in the humdrum of working. The youth theatres homepage has improved vastly of late thanks to the hard work of Adrian Hocking and the latest improvement is the addition of discussion forums. Obviously even in cyber space there has to be a “social committee” making sure there is a huge amount of life and a certain degree of decorum in the forums, and thus a crack editorial team has been assembled to keep the ball rolling. The team consists of myself Andrew Tristram (A.K.A. Trads) and assistant editor Jenny Quirke. We aim to keep a high standard of discussion, serious, deep and meaningfull, but also humorous, witty and downright silly at times. The forums include general chat in “Joes“ (please keep shop talk to a minimum!), “The New Hall” current news from the company, announcements from the directorate and things of vast importance, “On the Van” for all things technical, “the west cross” where past members share their knowledge, experience and memories and “Room A” where new and prospective members can ask the obvious, the not so obvious and the things we haven't considered.

There are a great number of things the forum can be used for, the possibilities are endless. With over 750 members through the thirty years the company has existed it should be possible to create a forum that positively booms with debate, ideas, questions, answers, information and fun. Obviously with all the positive energy that has come out of the previous sentences I'm sure you can sense a “but” coming…..and it is a big one…. BUT the success or failure of the forum depends largely on you. I'll admit to loving the sight of my own typing and I could go on for all eternity tapping the keys of my keyboard, but even I can see that in time I will grow bored of my own discussions and questions which I already know the answer to. So please don't be shy the more that people write the better the forum works, and the more interesting it will be for all concerned. If you see a good show, let us know, if you have a question ask us, if you think the world in general is a great place tell us why, so get typing!

Just to finish on a sober note please remember that the pages of the youth theatre homepage are accessable for all. This means that anyone can browse through our discussion groups so please, please, please be sensible. We do not wish to practice sensorship but in the case of misuse of this forum in any way we will. So use it, have fun with it but think first.

With hopes of being very busy keeping an eye on this forum.
