The Play
First performed in 1836, The Government Inspector is a satire set in a nondescript village at an unspecified time. The local officials of the town are gathered together to receive the news that they are to visited by a central government inspector, sent to expose corruption and incompetence. The Governor decides they must persuade, cajole and bribe the inspector into believing that the town is a model place to live. What follows is a 48 hour roller-coaster that the townsfolk will never forget.

Course Notes
Alongside The Government Inspector, all members of the company were involved in the creation and performance of a devised “studio” piece, titled “The Day I Ran Out of Sky”. It took as its theme the life of Yuri Gagarin, the Russian Cosmonaut who was the first man into space. Directed by Matthew Bulgo and Raichel Keene, it was performed at the Taliesin Arts Centre on January 4th 2003 .
