OUTREACH is a fantastic opportunity for potential wgytc members to work with staff, get to know current students, and get to know how the Company works, before taking part in a full residential course. The classes are open to anyone aged 11-21.

About the Project
Are you interested in developing your acting skills? This Autumn, West Glamorgan Youth Theatre Company (wgytc) and Grand Ambition are teaming up to provide classes to suit all ages and abilities.
TAG (The Actors Group) is a dynamic and inclusive acting class based in Swansea, dedicated to nurturing talent and building confidence through kindness and fun. Whether you’re an aspiring actor or simply have a passion for performing, TAG welcomes you.
What will I be doing?
The classes will be led by Lee Mengo and supported by Ellie Evans who are both wgytc alumni.
These courses, for Performance students, will work with specialist tutors on all elements of performance work; developing skills in acting & movement, working with text, devising work and many more.
The course will culminate with a sharing of work.

Swansea Grand Theatre
When?
Thursday Evenings. There are 2 classes running.
14 - 17 year olds 5.00pm - 7.00pm
18+ 7.00pm - 9.00pm
Dates
The first session starts on Thursday 3rd October 2024 and the last session will be 28th November 2024 (please note there will be no session the week of the half-term holiday)
Cost
This programme is being heavily subsidised by both companies to ensure access for all. The cost for the full programme is £100 but if you book early you can receive a £40 discount making the cost just £60!

For nearly 50 years wgytc has been providing skills training for young people in the West Glamorgan area. Vital to the work is termly OUTREACH classes where people can get a flavour of the Company and the work it does. Thousands of participants have gone on to work in the industry.
Participation in these courses will include access to wgytc tutors and an audition to become part of the core company ahead of our 50th year anniversary. 2025 will be filled with opportunities, including 2 residential projects.
What will I be doing?
There is no audition for wgytc Outreach.
The classes will be led by Julie Hobday (wgytc and cydc tutor) and supported by Isobel Williams (wgytc alumni).

wgytc is committed to access for all. The cost for the full programme is £60 but if you book early you can receive a discount making the cost just £30 for the term!
